Here at Viewpoint we’re all part of a diverse and friendly community. And as a member of that community you can play your part by getting involved. We’ll listen to what’s on your mind and constantly adapt to ensure we continue to provide the services you want. Your feedback is key to all we do and there are many ways to get involved. A summary of our Tenant Participation Strategy can be found here.
If you would like any further information or just a chat about how to get involved then please telephone 0131 662 5142 to speak to our Tenant Participation and Communications Co-ordinator or email: tp@viewpoint.org.uk
Each area has a quarterly meeting and/or walkabout hosted by your housing officer and technical officer. Other staff may also attend these meetings from time to time.
These meetings and walkabouts are an opportunity for you and your neighbours to raise common issues with staff. An action plan is then drawn up for each area for staff to work n and update you at future meetings and walkabouts.
For further information, speak to you Housing Officer or Technical Officer.
We maintain lists of tenants interested in engaging in a range of areas, including recruitment, communication and performance. Please let us know if you’d like to get involved.
Recruitment Volunteers consider job descriptions, assist with contract tender specifications and also participate in staff and contractor appointments. A copy of our Tenant Involvement in Staff Recruitment Policy can be found here.
Communication Volunteers work with staff to undertake investigations into all forms of communications, including methods, content and design.
Performance Volunteers investigate service issues raised by performance data and make recommendations to improve services.
Newspoint Working Group – volunteers will work with staff to produce an informative, interesting and attractive newsletter which is sent out to all tenants 3 times per year.
If you see something that you would like to be involved in then contact Viewpoint’s Tenant Participation and Communications Coordinator on 0131 662 5142 or by email at tp@viewpoint.org.uk.
There is an opportunity for tenants to check and review how Viewpoint delivers services to our tenants. Review groups are tenant led and they will investigate and make recommendations for change if they identify areas where Viewpoint could do things better, and champion where Viewpoint are getting things right.
During 2022/23, a group of tenants is reviewing Viewpoint’s customer service standards. The outcomes and recommendations will be sent to the Board of Management once the review has been completed. We will report the outcomes on our website and in our newsletter.
A review of the Lettable Standard was started in 2020, and due to the pandemic has still to be completed. An interim report was sent to Viewpoint’s Board of Management in 2020. The work will be re-starting shortly and, once completed, a final report sent to the Board of Management. We will report the outcomes on our website and in our newsletter.
If you would like to be involved in reviewing Viewpoint’s services, or would like more information on this, then please contact Viewpoint’s Tenant Participation and Communications Coordinator on 0131 662 5142 or by email at tp@viewpoint.org.uk.
Each year we prepare a tenant participation plan detailing what participation activities we know are coming up in the year.
We normally ensure these activities are included in the newsletter and you can access a copy of the plan here.
This plan can change over the year as new things emerge and we try to keep the plan updated.
If you see something that you would like to be involved in then contact Viewpoint’s Tenant Participation and Communications Coordinator on 0131 662 5142 or by email at tp@viewpoint.org.uk.
You can play a big part in how we provide care by joining the recruitment panel and helping us chose the right housing staff. A copy of our Tenant Involvement in Staff Recruitment Policy can be found here.
We have a group of volunteers who work with staff to shape the style and content of our Tenant Conference, which is normally an annual event.
